From the age of 10, skating transformed my life in every way. I had and continue to have an endless passion for the sport, its products and community. I knew the first year I started in 1989 I wanted to represent TEAM USA in speed skating and for my life to be forever entrenched in this passion / community. At 16 I won my first inline World Title in Perth Australia. I went on to compete for Team USA Inline 1995-2004 and again in 2014. I met my soulmate, Doug Glass, through the community and married him in December 1998. We started our first skating business together back in 1997. We’re currently on our 3rd skating company after 2 prior partnerships for misaligned values. At GMC, we’ve finally found our way back home to where it all started. We stand strong in our companies’ values, missions and have an unwavering pursuit of our dream company.
WHY I STARTED:
I love to go fast. I love the feeling of freedom you get on WHEELS – inline, quad and cycling.
WHAT BEING A PATRIOT MEANS TO ME:
Unwavering devotion to my Country. I stand with the United States of America in the endless pursuit of making today better than yesterday. I respect my fellow Patriots of their own Nationalities. Some of my best memories were representing the United States in Inline and Ice Speed Skating. I will continue to work my athletic passions with the hopes of myself and my family representing the stars and stripes.
Be an inspiration to myself, family and others. Live an authentic loving life through our collective passions. Continue to represent the USA as a proud Nationalist.

MY STORY – Skating has forever shaped my life.
My story in a nutshell: Skating become a staple in my life at the age of 10. I started competitively skating at 12. Nothing exhilarates me like speed skating. Skating for Tacoma Roller Bowl, the home of Tom Peterson & America’s first world champion enticed my ambition of one day becoming a world champion. Went on to win my first world title in the American relay in 1988, an individual silver in 1989 and another gold in the American relay in 1990. I went to work for Tom Peterson in 1994 heading up BSB (Boss Speed Bearing program). In 1995, I was asked to head up Ultimate Skates, a brand new division / company acquired from Mike Vouklizas by the Hyper Wheels Corporation. This experience was more rewarding than I could have ever imagined. With a bird’s eye view and leadership of Tom Peterson and so many great people of his organization I felt as though I was one of the most fortunate people in the world. I had all intentions of working for Tom my entire life. I could not see myself doing anything else. Life was coming at me at the speed of light. I was seeing and experiencing more than I could retain but it was a rush. Never a dull moment.
Things were about to change. I had no idea what was going on but knew something in the organization was not normal. Business was not as usual. Lots of rumors and disruptions. Without understanding much about business I could tell the Ultimate subsidiary was in jeopardy. So, 1997 will forever be remembered. From leaving Ultimate and starting my own company Verducci Racing in February of 1997. I married the love of my life in 1998 – Julie Brandt who I met through speed skating. I was fortunate enough to meet one of the most amazing woman on the planet. She has always been willing and open to supporting new ideas and all my goals. We went on to becoming one of the leading boot brands worldwide and owning three companies. Verducci Racing, Luigino / Atom Wheels both of which we brought on partners that didn’t align with our values.
We’re currently on our 3rd skating company, The Gold Medal Company. GMC brings us full circle. We have returned home where we started. We are patriots with passion, commitment and drive. We stand strong in our companies’ values, mission and unwavering pursuit of our dream company.
WHY I STARTED:
My sister first introduced me to skating as a baby-sitting outlet. We walked to the nearby skating center, (Tacoma Roller Bowl) from our home. I quickly fell in love with the feeling of going fast. Nothing has ever exhilarated me more than the feeling of self-propelling myself to speeds that I didn’t think were possible. I was hooked after winning my first free Pepsi from the snack bar at 10 years old.
Passion, commitment and drive. Hard work, sacrifice, risks which equal opportunity. The harder you work the luckier you get!
To rebuild my faith in the Lord. Be an inspiration for my family and skating community.
